Enroll

All registered full-time students are required to have health insurance coverage, either through this Student Health Insurance Plan or through another individual or family plan. Students are automatically billed by the college for the student health insurance. Students who know they want/need to enroll in the Colby College student health insurance plan should complete the steps for Enrollment here as soon as possible to assure access to your ID card and the benefits on the policy effective date, 8/1/2024. **Note Colby will automatically enroll all non-US citizens/students. (To be specific, if your Colby records indicate that you are not a US citizen, Colby will add you to the Student Health Insurance Plan automatically. No active enrollment is needed by the F-1 Visa students (for example); Colby will enroll you.) US students who take no action, will be enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan upon the enroll/waiver deadline, August 1, 2024. To help you with questions about whether you should enroll or waive as well as the Enrollment/Waiver process please see the FAQ’s.

Waive

All registered full-time students are required to have health insurance coverage, either through this Student Health Insurance Plan or through another individual or family plan. Students are automatically enrolled in and billed for the student health insurance. Students with comparable coverage who want to request a waiver of the Student Health Insurance Plan must provide proof of comparable coverage by completing the waiver process and uploading a pdf or jpeg file of the front and back of your current health insurance ID Card. A waiver is considered approved upon the receipt of the “Waiver Approved” confirmation email. The waiver status is also shown in the student’s Wellfleet online account. Students who take no action, or whose waiver request is declined will be enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan upon the enroll/waiver deadline, August 1, 2024. If you are an international student, you will be enrolled automatically. If you are a non-US student looking to waive coverage, please reach out to SFS sfs@colby.edu directly if you have US-based insurance that is comparable to the required policy. To help you with questions about comparable coverage and whether you should enroll or waive as well as the Enrollment/Waiver process please see the FAQ’s.
